RUKA : Argentine network
for Kuvasz realocation.
The group was created in 2003
September, 9 - Ruka is a nonprofit
organization, breeders, owners,
trainers, kuvasz lovers. We are a
group of people who helps to find
new homes for kuvasz, in general
adult, dogs that were left in the
street or they come from families
who decides that they can no longer
keep the dog.
Ruka’s proyect was born by
the necessity to have a space for
the dogs, but like other protective
animal organizations, we do not have
a physical space at the moment, and
don’t have transit homes to lodge
our dogs. We only can offer this
virtual house and our work.
The work of ruka consists in
find new and better homes for these
dogs, making contact between those
interested in being the new owners
of these kuvasz and their present
families. When Ruka relocates a
Kuvasz in a new home, previously
verify that the new place is the
best for the dog and the new owners.
In some cases we establish a
network of post to locate kuvasz
that were lost in the street and
whose families are desperate to
return to find them.
Ruka could make several
successful adoptions, but ours works
continues every day … and to be able
to obtain greater success, we needed
that our work is known by more and
more people.

One more history, with a very
very happy end...
This is the Arturo’s history, one
kuvasz abused that was left by his
owner in the Pasteur center in
Buenos Aires at the month of October
2004.
Arturo was left in the Pasteur
Center by a very violent man who
even attacked the dog in the
presence of some veterinarians and
Center’s employees.
We don’t know how was Arturo’s life,
which is his origin, which his true
name, but ,with certainty we know he
has been an abused and very hurt
dog.
Arturo arrive with problems in his
column, with an infection in one
ear, thin until the bones, with
injuries and blows by all his body,
his hair everything compressed and
full of fleas. The people of the
center told us that the dog almost
did not walk and that he could not
stay still on.
When Ruka received the warning
about a Kuvasz had arrived at the
Pasteur Center, we put to work
contacting a lot of people that can
help us to find a new location to
this dog. We thought that this task
would be quite difficult, because...
who would want to adopt a dog in bad
conditions? but... once again , we
were surprised because in less than
one week, from the city of Rauch (to
260 km of Buenos Aires) we received
the confirmation for Arturo, his
life had an opportunity.
Sunday 31 of October, Arturo travel
until Rauch to meet with his new
family. When he could descend from
the vehicle that transported him, he
follow Marisa to inside house, and
he began to cross everything very
fast until find the other dog of the
house, "Pungui", Arturo watch him
with very happy face and he
continued walking by each place of
the house as if he could guess that
he had arrived at his sweet home.
Was incredible that this dog that
almost did not walk can showed so
happy in Marisa ‘s house.
A new reflected brightness in his
eyes, as if he knew that finally he
had found a pacific place.
Marisa says to us, that Arturo (this
is his new name) is so better of his
ear, is a very educated dog and
seems very intelligent, he sleep
next to her bed and in addition he
already found his place in the room
of her daughter, Sun.
In Ruka, we felt very very happy and
we have a great gratefulness to
Marisa and her daughter Sun because
they adopted Arturo without
conditions and in addition they
demonstrated once again to us, that
exist many people with a truely
giant heart in the world.
